There has been a lot of banter and speculation on Jordy Smith the last few months and the tight loss to good mate Travis Logie at Snapper Rocks just added fuel to the fire. The bottom line is the man does rip hard, whether he gets a world title or not! So just sit back, drop your jaw and be amazed!

Flaming Hot Ditches - Red Bull Rich Ditches BMX

Take a handfull of International BMX stars, some serious local talent and throw them in a huge canal/ditch in the baking summer sun in the middle of nowhere, some 2.5 hours drive from Cape Town and what do you get? One of the most awesome BMX events in the history of the game!

I missed it this year, but lucky for those of us who did, there is an awesome video to check out!

The local Bodyboard crew have been having one of the best summers in living memory in Cape Town.   Even with the sub zero water and large predators at hand, it is hard not to love our cold water wonderland when huge tubes are on offer weekly. I have spent time with both these guys and they are constantly smiling, happy and stoked to be riding! Meet two of South Africa's premier wakeboarders and wakeskaters, Dylan James Mitchell and Dale Nieuwstad. Filmed around South Africa with their Spanish friend in tow, this gives a good vision of who they are, where they come from and how they ride!

Captain Kai's World Podcast - Billabong Pro Jnr Groms, Chris Cab and Haezer

Holy goodness you guys get an epic Podcast this week! First up I had the gremlins on the show in the form of Jake and Max Elkington and Adin Masencamp - all surfing in the Billabong Pro Junior, presented by Bos, over the weekend in Durban. We got inside the minds of the kid brigade. Lets get something straight, Ultimate X 2013 was the most boss Action Sports event ever seen in South Africa. From Skate, Bmx, Wake and FMX the boys and girls were throwing down and the crowd were going mental! Fellow MC, Chris Cab, who normally works on MOD and Ken Block events in Europe, was totally blown away and compared the Ultimate X to the best he has seen. Just check out this edit by GoPro South Africa and you will see exactly what I mean and look out for this week's Podcast with some of the top athletes raving about the event, such as Bmx superstar, Greg Illingworth.

I have been watching and filming the South African BMX scene for a while now and one guy that always stands out for me in free ride and competition is, Malcom Peters aka Moe. This is his latest edit and boy does it rock! Make sure to stick to then end for one of the craziest transfers I have ever seen.

Captain Kai's World Podcast - Wavescape Film Festival & Hot Heels Africa 2012

Busy show this week with December upon us and the storm of events hitting. First up were the Downhill Skaters with Justin and Gabi from SAGRA, to talk about this weekend's, Hot Heels Africa, event. Celebrating 10 years, this is our only World Cup event and will see 4 of the World's best battling for the World Title at the final event of the year. It was great to have international stars, Tamara Prader and Patrick Switzer in studio.

Next up was our man of the surf forecast, Spike, from Wavescape. This week the iconic Wavescape Film Festival begins, with films showing at the Brass Bell, The Labia and of course the viewing on Clifton beach this Saturday evening. Wednesday is the Surfboard Art auction and this is well worth attending.

Next week will be very surf orientated with an ASP Judge, Andy Davis from Mahala and hopefully some skype calls from Cali and Hawaii.

Warren Talbot from Vans joined me with skater, Wong, to chat about the premier of the awesome new skate doccy, Bones Brigade. After that it was Tyrone Rawlins, Craig Kolesky and Oliver Munnik, pro Mountain Biker and radio virgin, who came to tell us about their fund raising efforts for One Sight, as they prepare for the fright of their lives in the Cape Epic next year. We also chatted Hawaii anf the ASP World Tour as Craig is normally there for the Pipe Masters, but he just got depressed!

Bones Brigade will show in Jozi tomorrow night, Thursday in Durban and in Cape Town on Friday.

The main feature is DC's all new Snowboarding Film, Must be Nice, with a stellar cast. Must Be Nice features footage of the guys from the past year shredding around the world. A true team movie, this film is what snowboarding is to DC.

I was stoked having good mate and insane surfer, Royden Bryson, on the show again. He filled us in on his leg rehab, his plans for 2013 and onwards and of course his thoughts on the 2012 ASP World Title Race which will go down to the wire in Hawaii.

I always enjoy the Halloween Jam. BMX and dirt are always koo and the boys have put some serious work into the Gum Trails setup over the years. With both Greg Illingworth and Wayne Reiche away on the overseas front, it allowed the younger guys to really gun for the title and the prizes. Considering I shot this on 1 camera and got 4 minutes of good footage, well, just know the riding was amazing...

Captain Kai's World on 2 Oceans Vibe Radio - With Pro Surfer, Tanika Hoffman and Wayne Craig

This week I had Pro Surfer and very cool lady, Tanika Hoffman in studio to promote her new surf school with Vudu Surf. Fresh out of the junior ranks, she is giving the qualifying tour a crack in 2013. I can think of very few girls I would rather be taught how to surf by.
Wayne Craig, the boss of Plett and the Wedge Classic (Seriously, he is up for DA leadership in the area) joined us to talk about Plett, food and of course his favorite pastime, the NSRI.

The long awaited film by the man beast has finally arrived! Tomorrow evening in Santa Cruz, Jordy Smith premiers his signature film, Bending Colours. While most of us wont be able to attend what I am sure will be a melting pot of surf culture and free booze antics by the world's best surfers, Red Bull have kindly allowed us mere mortals to watch the premier live via Red Bull TV. So watch the webisodes below and start frothing, because though Jordy has not had the best year on tour, this movie is going to change surfing! (5pm in South Africa.)

RVCA Doodle Bus and Office Wetting Party 2012

During the Billabong Pro, RVCA South Africa, moved into their brand spanking new offices in JBay. To celebrate they hired a bus and packed it with the RVCA and ANP (Artist Network Program) athletes and artists, and drove from Cape Town to Jbay for the party. The artists spent the day making the new offices beautiful, while the skaters did what skaters do and Roosta and I were at the surf contest all day. That eve we all met up and had a huge party (Probably the best one of the Billabong week.) With Taxi Violence playing, followed by Narch and Twig handing out tequila like it was water, it was a great evening! Here is the video, narrated by Roosta and myself...

Another week and another amazing show. I was joined by Daniel from the new Cape Town craze, Moonlight Mass, which happens again on Thursday.
