Captain Kai's World on www.2ov.fm - Show 31 Podcast

Frank Solomon, Anthony Raynard & Jadyson Costa - Champion line up!
This show was so packed with Action Sports Athletes, I almost did not know who to ask what. First off we dedicated the show and 2 tracks to David, who died tragically last week in a shark attack. We also discussed the current shark debate with all the guests. First up were Jadyson Costa, the current welterweight EFC Africa Champion, Anthony Raynard, SA MX Champion and Frank Solomon, big wave surfer. All three were of the opinion that the other three were more hardcore and this led to some good laughs. Anthony came to promote the SA National Motorcross champs this weekend in Melkbos. Later Frank and I were joined by free surfer, Andrew "Roosta" Lange and we ended off the show with Roosta and his partner in music, Craig, as the "Non-violent fisherman" played us out with a great Led Zeppelin cover. Enjoy the show!

Captain Kai's World on www.2OV.fm - Podcast Show 29

The Easter Show was great with EFC Africa fighters James "Jambo" Le Roux and Jaydson Costa in studio to discuss their upcoming title fights at EFC Africa 13 at Grand West Casino on Friday 13th April. I will be attending the event and we will have feedback on next week's show. Was great to find out both fighters surf!  Robby MacDonald was with me to talk about the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach, the Quiksilver Pro Junior in Durban and the Billabong Grom Games in PE over the Easter Weekend. We also had a surprise skype call from Roland Schoeman from his flight back to SA from the States, to come compete in the SA Olympic swimming trials.

Ruan "Fangzz" Potts looking for his Title Fight - EFC 08

Tonight on EFC 08, Ruan Potts will continue his mission to be the best MMA heavyweight in Africa, when he takes on Baygon Obutobe. While I wish I could tell you about his opponent, there is very little information out there, all I know is he is 38 and weighs in at 108kg.
Heavyweight confrontation!
Ruan "Fangzz" Potts entered the EFC cage for the first time at EFC 07 against Calven Robinson. In a fight where most of the media were calling Robinson, the more "experienced"fighter, for the win, Ruan decided to not follow the script and took him out in under 3 minutes. He now takes on Baygon, knowing that if he wins tonight, he will have his title belt clash at the next EFC in June.
Ruan "Fangzz" Potts
Ruan fights under the Dragon Power gym and his trainer and Sifu Kru, Quentin "the Dragon" Chong.

For more on Ruan check out his profile on - Dragon Power

Check his bio at - EFC Africa

I have no doubt he will win tonight and earn himself a title shot! Not sure, check out how fast he dealt with Robinson, a way more established fighter...

Dragon Power enters the EFC Cage

I have been awaiting the date when Quentin "The Dragon" Chong, would enter one of his fighters into the EFC, MMA cage and that time has arrived. This Thursday evening, Ruan Potts the MMA instructor at Dragon Power Gym will be taking on EFC heavyweight, Calven Robinson, at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg. A lot of smack talk from Robinson heading into the fight with Ruan being a debutante, but I would caution that he takes this fight very seriously. Ruan is a black belt Jujitsu fighter and has been trained in MuayThai by world champion, The Dragon, as well his brother, Winston "The Tiger" Chong, a Superfight Champion. Quentin is also contracted to train Randy Couture for his big UFC fights and this experience will greatly enhance Ruan's training and fight readiness. I cant wait for the live web cast on Thursday evening at 7:30pm - EFC Live Broadcast
